On this page I will publish documents that I have written or found about my ancestors (Scroll down to se the list below). They are built on research in church books and other historical documents like maps, local archives and personal documents . In addition to this I have had much help from my mother who had a wonderful memory of past and present up the end of her life.
I have also scanned documents or books that are made by my relatives to make them digitally available to those that are interested in our history. To make this possible I have in many cases used optical recognizing program because the printed originals often are copies of copies and therefore not of enough quality to be reproduced. By doing so sometimes some errors can arise that I missed. If you find those please let me know. The advantage of using optical recognizing program is also that you get a editable text that can be used in further genealogy research. I publich the documents here as pdf's because they will come out in the same way on all printers. If you want on in editable format just let me know and I send it to you.
Children of Lars Andersson Modig 1803 and Matia Kristina Svensdotte Modig 1815. No picture of Sven Agust Blomqvist is found.
Here you can find the latest version of the documents. The documents are organised in groups: Root Daretorp , then branches of MajaStina children and last my mother Gunne Forsslund. The process of my writing includes asking you to comment and make corrections. The stories will evolve by your help and continually be updated which the filename will indicate. If you have any comments or questions please mail me. My address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
To download them click on the filename listed below and the process will start.
If you have Google Earth installed on your computer then you can use the small files (with kmz endings) to create place marks in Google Earth. You can then find the exact localisaton for e.g. the Sodier Modig's Torp Ekebo, Maja Stina Modig's Södra Hagen and the Curch.
Download the files and save them where you can find them. Open Google Earth and click on the files. You will "fly" to the place. If you don't have Google Earth you can download it for free at: https://earth.google.com/intl/earth/download/ge/agree.html
In particular, I want to highlight three documents that are almost a must-read. The first is "2_08_Harry_Art_Appendices.pdf" which is Hulda's story about childhood and how the family came to travel to America and the journey there. She was then about 10 years old. Among other things, she tells how her father traded the farm for tickets to America.
The second is "2_02_Betty Blomberg's foot print_2014-01-09.pdf" which follows Betty's "life journey" until 1881 when they emigrated.
The third is "6_02_Foundation_contractor_Alfred_Blomberg_v1.0.pdf" which is a translation of Alfred Blomberg's book. It is about childhood and life up to the age of 60 when he wrote the book.
